Smoky Jackfruit

Smoky jackfruit (GF) (V): A great plant based meat-like alternative, inspired by traditional Southern BBQ! Prepared with a savory blend of smoky spices and seasonings.

Claims: Vegan, Gluten Free, Cholesterol Free.

  1. Typical sauces / toppings / spices:
  2. Your choice of BBQ Sauce, and or Green Piquant Sauce.
  3. Served with Mayonnaise based Crunchy Coleslaw.
  4. Garnish with Crispy Onions or Pickled Red Onion, Sliced Jalapeno.

Reheating and cooking instructions:

  1. Smoky Jackfruit may be reheated in the pouch, in medium boil until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
  2. Defrost product, spread out on greased sheet pan, lightly spray with choice of liquid oil (olive, canola or vegetable oil) bake 365 degrees until lightly browned, approx. 20-30 minutes (depending on oven)
  3. Pan-frying; defrost product, remove from packaging. Add choice of oil; coconut, olive, vegetable or canola oil – sauté Jackfruit on medium high heatstirring occasionally.  Cook until lightly browned or crispy to taste, approx. 8 -12 minutes.

Multiple servings recommendations:

  1. In place of regular Pulled Pork BBQ –Sandwiches, Sliders, or Asian Steamed Buns. Nachos, Tacos, Tostadas or Burritos. Serve with Soft Grits or Polenta. Garnish Vegan Mac N’ Cheese and Casseroles. Great on a Cobb Salad. Toss into Hash browns or top waffles for breakfast... endless application food options! Use as a substitute for Smoky Pork Bacon too.
  2. Hors D’ Oeuvre, appetizer, first course or center of the plate entrée.
